Impromptu visit by Badutz Sdn Bhd!

Badutz Sdn Bhd paid a visit to the SPFB gals training this Saturday after their supposed "assignment" in the computer lab. They were restless and itching for a game of floorball as they watched their fellow teammates,Jie hong and Idhzaar, training with the gals. Bala begin to do some ball juggling at the table tennis area while Kumar started doing slap-shots. Raju was fiddling with the ball and observing the game well. Gopal however, woke up late and ended up staring at the gals play.-=]or is it ogling?[=- Aniwae, we were invited -=]or is it pleaded?[=- to a game of about 1/2 - 1 hr of a 4 on 4 with small goalposts. Mixed match that is.

It was a great time for Bala as he's nursing a knee injury and needs time to recover and this would be a great oppurtunity to test his limits for the game before he resumes full training. Kumar also had an oppurtunity to play defence and switch flanks. Gopal was ever-reliable in defence shoring up gaps while Raju made a surprising comeback in defence giving dragshots from afar. In total, 9 goals were scored from them. (4 goals- Kumar) (3 goals- Bala) (1 goal each- Gopal and Raju) The gals were just as good as Shazwani improved well in defence using her body well to shield and hold the ball long enough for support to arrive in attack or defence. Ah Shan was giving many shots and her positioning has improved. Huda has improved a lot too not as the defence who stayed down but one who could maraude the flanks effectively as well as put in well placed crosses as well as menacing dragshots from afar. Diyanah has been able to dribble well and get in some shots too. I duno much about the rest so can't comment much. However,I dun tink i can come for training tomorrow. My knee is still recuperating and probably can't last 4 hours for the training. Haf fun yeah? I'll be back as fast as I can!

Stern Warning To SP no.18 from Evangelista Torricco.

Evangelista Torricco has issued a stern warning to eager centre Mohd Akil who has sustained minor collateral knee ligament injuries during the IIVP match against TP and is slated to be out of training for at least 2-3 weeks. His over-eagerness in floorball has attracted much fans but may further injure his knee if he continues training without proper guidance. Furthermore the lack of centres' or midfielders in the squad require players in these positions to be fit at all times. Therefore, Evangelista Torricco has given a stern warning and strict penalties if Mohd Akil was caught again training without proper guidance.

Yours sincerely,
Mr Krap
Secretary.

SMU vs SP

Match 19 started with attacking play by both teams, with SP more structured. 10 minutes passed before one of the 2 teams’ defense broke. A simple pass by SP jersey number 17 Hafiz to Akil results in e only goal in the first period.

Play continued in the same fashion in the 2nd period. SMU scored their equalizer the same way as SP opened their account, with Captain Mak Mun Fai assisting Mark Cheong in scoring.

SMU continued with the pressure after e equalizer and scored their 2nd by a solo effort by Chung Deming. Both teams were called into desperate defending at times.

It wasn't too long into e 3p where the sp goalie was called into action. And SMU's efforts paid off with a goal by Teh Jiu Xun. SMU then controlled the game.

Kudos to SP for fighting to the last second, putting the SMU defense under pressure.

Final score SMU 3:1 SP.

SP vs SMU~ The match decider of the century of the IIVP~ Who will win this?

SP vs SMU~ This match may not be hyped up in the IIVP championship by the other title deciders but this is what all SP students have been waiting for. This match is where we could show our mettle as we haf lost 2-1 against them last season. It was a close fight and i remember 2 silly goals cost us our firz win. It was a painful lesson and we are baying for revenge against SMU. We may have gotten our first win against RP but that is not enough to quench our thirst for the trainings we had for this. SMU....We will not go down without a fight and the match against NUS is testimony to this....Be very afraid....

SP vs RP -=[Match reported by Mr Evangelista]=-

It was a match which should never be allowed to happen. And I repeat. NEVER! The mood was too relax, passes were slack, shots were seldom seen and it seemed more like a friendly match then a match hyped to be exciting as RP starts the IIVP season against the stylish SP team. Let me say once again SP that this should neva happen again b4 i start this report.

The match started loudly as the SP cheered their trademark FORZA SP! and triple SONG BO! blasts as they began their search for their 3 pointz. RP was not to be overawed as they too cheered loudly with their strong fanbase up in the stands. SP began with the stylishly fitted line 1 led by forward Farok and marshalled by Shamil and Zaki at the back. The midfield was not to be left behind with the talented Taqi and Faliq as the fans shouted their names several times over. SP won the initial face-off and the match began at a sluggishly slow pace. However, Line 1 has to be commended as they gained the initial 1-0 lead in the first period with Taqi chipping over the keeper following neat work from the defence upwards. Line 2 was not to be outdone although they didnt score in the 1st period but their distribution made sure evri1 had a chance to attack. Line 3 played their usual conservative game as the game dragged on.

The 2nd period began much more livelier as a national player,Eddie came over to give us some tips on our performance and tips on how to improve better. It cheered us quite well considering the fact that we had no fans at all and was feeling rather empty. We began to wake up as we began to play more offensively. Line 2 started with power play as an RP player obtained a 2 min penalty at the end of the first period. Line 2 controlled play for 2 mins but found no way through a tight RP defence. Line change soon followed from then on, and no goals were seen yet much improvement was seen in SP as they followed the tips from Eddie. Line 2 then began running the game as waves and waves of attack began on the RP fortress. Hafiz and Adzmin relentless runs were often regulated with slick short passes from Akil and Zal as lone striker Dzaki tried his best to find a way past RP. Suddenly, agst the run of play, a loose ball from the RP defence came invitingly to Akil playing safety in half-court. Without much thought, he took a swift and silent dragshot into the top right hand corner of the net which gave the RP keeper no chance whatsoever as he was screened by the mass of bodies in front of him. Evri1 go berzerk as Akil juz swung his index finger round and round in the air amazed at his wonder goal. Celebrations were swift as SP congratulated each other and evri1 then began to took their chances from afar and from near. SP was truly dominant in this period.

Eddie came again to compliment us and gave us more tips on how to change our types of attacks as well as using the defence more to attack. The third period was even more dominant by SP but many errors were seen yet unpunished. These mistakes has got to be rectified early and abolished immediately. Slick and fast passing were seen and the magnificent Taqi got his second goal via a nice run from the left. SP ended this match on a high but yet it was'nt much worth talking. Much was expected yet none was delivered. Much better performance is expected against SMU. If performance drops,i will have to consider fining the whole team. And REMEMBER, abstain from the seven deadly sins during this IVP period. Should anyone be seen doing those, a hefty fine and he will immediately be dropped from subsequent matches. Thank you.

Mr Evangelista Torricco.

SP has made a giant step towards IIVP 2004/2005!

On Monday,6th September 2004, players of the SP Floorball IIVP Team stepped into NTU's floorball rink with unity and determination to leave a mark behind. And this was done in timely fashion as we did it with our trademark fighting spirit and unity to contain the raging attacks of the NUS Floorball IIVP team. The first period was a tense affair as both sides began to forage for defensive weaknesses to break into. This often lead to harsh pushes on both sides and led to no.21 of NUS to get a 2 min penalty for wrongfully pushing no.11 of SP against the boards. This gave SP the initiative to launch an offensive in the 2nd period.

The 2nd period was a battle of guts and fighting spirit as NUS scored a rather fluke goal via shot which bounced off the ground over SP's goalie and landed into the bottom corner of the net. While NUS was celebrating,SP was undaunted initiating a counter-offensive against NUS. It took some time as SP began to move forward via SP's no.17 and long balls from defence. Other notable players include SP's industrious midfield which hasten every NUS attack they could muster. Via a bit of luck and skill, SP's no.17 turned past a few defenders and scooped the ball over the onrushing NUS keeper. It was a goal well-worth celebrating. The fans from the stands were cheering loudly as SP was back in the game! This led NUS to call for a time-out as they began to reanalyse their tactics. SP wasn't content with the results and continued their drive for success.

The third period was where desperation from both sides were evidently seen to break the deadlock of having the first draw of the IIVP season. NUS was launching hasty attacks while SP were blocking shots by throwing their bodies against every shot. It was another piece of ingenuity by NUS no.15 as he did a wraparound from the far post which snuggled between the legs of SP's goalie and leapt into the net. Agony SP as we grew stronger in unity to try to whack another goal in. It was evident as NUS tried to control and prolong play as long as possible and seem content on keeping possession as time rolled on. It was agonising when in the dying minutes there was a goalmouth scramble in the NUS area, but SP failed to put the ball in the net as our efforts were nearing the end as the clock ticked away. This proved costly as we lost to NUS. However, it was a good improvement considering we lost 5-0 against them the previous season. FORZA SP!!!

1. Come on guyz! RP match today! Let's kick some ass with the same fighting spirit and with great hope we shall win this match! VORVA SP!
2. For the SP gals, dun be discouraged yeah? We lost the same tho the scores are different but what's important is a loss is a loss. Now,together,we shall bounce back from this defeat to show our mettle and show what SP is made of! FORZA SP!
3. SUPPORT SP!!!!!! FANS FROM EVERYWHERE! GIVE US YOUR UTMOST SUPPORT AND WE SHALL RETURN WITH OUR HIGHEST PERFORMANCE! SONG BO! SONG BO! SONG BO!

P.S. Due to lack of tanni to the reporter from the ban imposed by Evangelista to all SP floorball players against the seven deadly sins, the reporter has been serious with the report.
